101 in 1001: A Review

1001 days ago, on January 1, 2011, I started a list of 101 things that I wanted to accomplish.  It's been a weird, busy, exciting, frustrating, amazing, exhausting, wonderful 2.75 years, and today, my list ends.

It was a really cool project to keep track of, and I'm definitely starting a new list!  It's weird what can change in only a few years, what you can accomplish, and above all, what you can learn and do.

So, without further rambling, my list!  I highlighted (in blue) the things that I didn't do at all, I highlighted (in purple) the things that I kind of did or almost accomplished, used strikethrough to indicate the things that I've done, and comments are in italics.

Start Date: 1/1/11
End Date: 9/28/13

THINGS COMPLETED: 55
THINGS ALMOST COMPLETED/PROGRESS MADE: 18
THINGS NOT COMPLETED AT ALL: 28

GOING GREEN & DOING GOOD
1. Start composting
2. Grow a garden
           Grew spinach, cilantro, and tomatoes…barely.
3. Eat local (and organic!) for an entire week 3 times (0/3)
I definitely want to focus more on eating local and organic.  I've made a lot of steps in a good direction, especially when it comes to organic, but with budget/time/sanity restraints, there's room for improvement.  I wasn't able to completely say that I ate 100% organic/local for a week, even with my CSA.
4. Buy more green, vegan products
I switched out probably 98% of all of our toiletries and cleaning products.  There's always room for growth, but I'm really happy about this.
5. Volunteer at the co-op
6. Volunteer 101 hours of my time (60/101)
7. Volunteer at Big Idea
8. Write a political prisoner

got a csa instead and had the farmers market come to us!
20. Eat only “whole” foods for a week
this is really hard to measure, but I would say that I've definitely moved towards eating 95%+ whole foods.  outside of the occasional mock meat or condiment, we rarely eat processed stuff.
21. Start a food blog
22. Make Seitan

I came really close to accomplishing this.  it's hilarious that I wasn't able to.  I also didn't really pay attention to my attendance for a few semesters with this goal in mind, so it's possible that I actually did this, but also, knowing me, very possible that I didn't.
